A baby gate is easier to choose when you make the decisions in the right order: location, fit, tested use, daily operation and finally appearance.
1. Identify the location
Doorways, hallways, stair landings and banister openings create different installation conditions. Start with the exact place where the barrier is needed.
2. Measure the actual mounting span
Crafted Gates fit openings from 27.6 to 55 inches wide and are 33 inches tall. Measure at the actual mounting points and follow the instructions supplied with the gate.
3. Compare retractable and rigid designs
Rigid gates remain in the opening and usually swing to allow passage. Retractable gates roll to the side, reducing their footprint when open.
4. Verify safety information
Crafted Gates are intended for children ages 6–24 months and pets and have been tested by Bureau Veritas to ASTM F1004-22 and 16 CFR 1239. Never use a safety gate as a barrier to keep a child away from a pool.
