A gate used outdoors faces different conditions from one in a climate-controlled living room. Sun, moisture, dirt and temperature changes can all affect the material and maintenance requirements.
Indoor gates prioritize interior performance
Crypton® Home performance fabric is the indoor-focused Crafted Gates option. It helps resist stains, moisture and odors while maintaining a refined upholstery appearance.
Outdoor locations need outdoor-capable fabric
Milliken® and InsideOut® are the Crafted Gates options designed for indoor/outdoor performance. InsideOut® is designed for liquid and fade resistance and mildew resistance when properly maintained.
Fit does not change
Crafted Gates fit openings from 27.6 to 55 inches wide and are 33 inches tall. Measure at the actual mounting points.
Outdoor does not mean maintenance-free
Follow the care guidance for the selected textile and inspect the gate regularly. Exposure conditions vary widely between a covered porch and an uncovered deck.
Child-use reminder
Crafted Gates are intended for children ages 6–24 months and pets. Never use a safety gate as a barrier to keep a child away from a pool.
