A six-foot opening is approximately 72 inches wide. That measurement matters because not every “wide” pet gate is designed to span it.
Crafted Gates do not fit a 72-inch opening
Current Crafted Gates models fit openings from 27.6 to 55 inches wide. If your actual mounting span is 72 inches, the standard Crafted Gate is not the correct fit. We would rather make that clear before you order.
Measure the actual mounting span
Posts, trim and the intended attachment points can make the usable opening different from the visible opening. Measure exactly where the barrier would attach.
If your opening is 55 inches or less
A Crafted Gate may be an option. Consider the environment and pet behavior, then choose among the current fabric selections.
If your opening is larger than 55 inches
Choose a product specifically designed and tested for that span rather than stretching or improvising with a smaller gate.
